I make textiles combining mark-making with weave and print techniques that explore surface, layers and time. Handwritten marks and their lost meanings are a particular focus of interest, together with their fragmentation and erosion over the course of time. The hand-woven cloth is constructed as a base layer for further addition and subtraction, so that the final piece is an accumulation of strata, representing the gradual accretions of time, both real and metaphorical.
