Graptolites Scroll
This delicate silk scroll references the calligraphic silk and paper scrolls of Japanese and Chinese culture. The 'written' marks here are real fossil marks left by graptolites, creatures from deep geological time (Silurian/Ordovician), painted onto the warp in ink before weaving. The weft is a special mineral yarn, with subtle metallic highlights that echo mineral deposits found in rock samples. (22cm x 36cm)
